December Updates from Team Dotplot

As the year wraps up, we wish everyone a healthy and fulfilling holiday season and start to the new year!

In this edition, we share about a new Dotplot feature, get into the festive spirit at a breast cancer holiday charity event, and discuss a novel NHS scheme for breast screening appointments.

This is also a moment for us to reflect on Dotplot’s progress this year. We’re so grateful to everyone who has taken part in our journey so far. From our incredible team and study participants to our supportive advisors, thank you for believing in our mission to revolutionise breast health care!

Our 2024 Highlights

What We’ve Been Up to This Month

We’re always considering additional features we can develop to help people look after their overall breast health. Whilst developing our self-check software, we identified a new way to measure bra size without needing a tape measure.

We’re excited to expand on what our technology offers and empower people to better understand an often overlooked part of the body. We’ll continue to work on this new feature in the coming year!

If you have any suggestions for new app features or ways we can improve your breast health care, we’d love to hear from you!

Events

We had a wonderful time attending the annual Future Dreams Pink Christmas event! With various brands and goods to choose from, attendees can celebrate the holidays whilst shopping to raise funds for those affected by breast cancer.

In the News 📰

This month, the NHS rolled out a new “ping and book” service for breast screening checks. The NHS App will remind eligible women when it’s time for them to book an appointment, replacing letters with pop-up invitation notifications. The push to increase access to care comes after data from the previous year shows more than a third (35.4%) of patients did not follow through with screening invitations. Digital screening delivery will hopefully allow women more convenience and control in the appointment making process. The scheme will expand to cervical screenings in 2025 before scaling to reach millions of women in 2026.

And with that, our 2024 season comes to an end.
That’s all for this month. See you in the next one 😉
