Updates from Team Dotplot
In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re excited to launch the first edition of our company newsletter! 🥳
While October may be coming to a close, our mission here at Dotplot will stay the same – to bring safe and effective breast health monitoring into people’s homes.
Here’s a look back at some of the ways we spread the #IAmBreastAware message this month:

Our Story
From an unsettling personal experience to officially launching in 2022, it’s been a crazy couple of years. We’re learning that revolutionising breast health care is a seriously ambitious mission! The process of building Dotplot has had many tough moments, but we wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.
Since winning the James Dyson Award, the door has opened to various opportunities driving Dotplot’s progress, and we’re grateful for each one of them. Some of these include grants from InnovateUK and NIHR, as well as winning New Start-up of the Year at the 2024 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awards by Cancer Research Horizons. We hope to use this momentum to bring our product into homes soon!
Dotplot in the Media 📺
Cancer Research Horizons recently published an article featuring our startup. We share about how Dotplot came to life, why putting our users first is so important to us, and our journey from students to co-founders.

What We’ve Been Up To LatelyOur team has been hard at work developing our handheld device. We recently conducted a usability test with 15 women highlighting common challenges faced with existing technology. This feedback will help us make our device even more user-friendly!
We also carried out an app beta test that 50 amazing women took part in. Their feedback has been incredibly valuable in improving the interface and providing clearer guidance for the self-check process. A huge thank you to each of you!
🎉 Welcome Niyati! 🎉
